I loved to watch This Old House as a kid.  The work, sights and sounds of building had me.  Everything went together perfectly on site - in the moment, right?  No.  A project manager knows that like a seed waiting in the ground there is real crucial work taking place out of sight beforehand.

Our current project is one that first appeared back in 2024.  The site was lovely with a fantastic southeastern mountain view.  There were so many steps related to the particularities of the property; septic and well placement, setbacks and steep slope considerations - as well as answers for the house itself; design, pricing, selections and financing to name a few.  All this needed to be complete before the house began to take shape.  For our clients, though patient and diligent, this time could not arrive too soon!  B Three was proud to assist with these behind the scenes tasks until we could finally break ground in Fall of 2025.

Our clients worked with a team of professionals that included a draftsman, a civil designer, geotechnical engineer and a surveyor.  In order to pass the hurdles of Buncombe County’s planning and zoning for this site the answers and documents that these men provided was an absolute necessity.  B Three Construction assisted with project management at this early phase, meeting on site and communicating with the team and others; officials, contenders for the work, utilities reps, to facilitate solving the total project scope in order to provide a real budget for construction costs.

As this was going on the owners wrestled valiantly with the Zoning Exemptions Board and the Health Department for more favorable placement of the house and septic upon the property while continuing to work on financing and design details.

At each milestone the plan was clearer, finally came the day when the project scope was complete.  That was the moment when all the work, documents and other information could be distilled into the final Bid Price Agreement.  By authorizing this the project could move ahead just like on This Old House, right?  Well almost - you should see the cutting room floor.  But the point is, B Three Construction will be with you through the slog.

Stay tuned for updates and to see the completed project!
